Top 8 Amazing Books Of 2016
Hey there! Today I am sharing the top 8 books of 2016, half way through the year. I am planning to do the other eight at the end of the year so it adds to 16 (as it is currently 2016). These are books I have read and loved this year. I have done book reviews on most of these and will link them so you can check those out if you wish to.
It has been so hard to only choose eight and as I look through my favourites shelf on Goodreads, I am already wincing at the thought of narrowing it down. Let me know if you want to me to do a similar post where I discuss some of my favourite books overall where I include the books I didn't get to include in this post.
I have also numbered the books, eight being the least liked of the list and one being the most. However, do note that I absolutely adored all the books on this list and it was very hard for me to order them. And when I say least liked, I mean from the list! And note that these books are the top 8 books from the entire 67 I have read this year.
Without further ado, let's get started.
8. Finding Audrey
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella is such a cute, heart-warming, funny and adorable book. I love how relatable and relaxed the book is, how it focuses on the smaller details such as the family banter that happens or the video gaming world. It was sweet and simple but so well written that it took the ordinary and really made it shine. I loved the main character, Audrey, who I found was quite like me! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and refreshing read.
7. The Young Elites
The Young Elites by Marie Lu is such a stunning, dark and suspenseful series filled with fantasy and mystery. The entire time I was reading the book I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It was unlike anything I have read before and I am so excited for the third book to come out later this year.

6. Fangirl
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is a book I have raved and raved and raved about on my blog so I am going to keep it short so regular readers don't feel the need to throw the book at my head. (Sorry guys!). Fangirl is heart-warming, funny, lovable and very well written. The characters are relatable and sweet and I wish they were real. I have done a book review and have mentioned in a few posts which I will link!
5. Aristotle And Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe
Aristotle And Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz is a beautiful coming of age story of two friends, Aristotle and Dante. Defying stereotypes and breaking rules, this book is so wonderfully unique. It looks at issues such as racial discrimination and sexual discrimination. The character development is incredible and it is so articulate and well written. This is an absolute must read.
4. Blood Of Eden Trilogy
The Blood Of Eden trilogy written by Julie Kagawa has three books - The Immortal Rules, The Eternity Cure and The Forever Song. It is such a unique and well told story about a broken world with vampires, rabids and humans and what happens when a human who hates vampires is turned into one herself. It's sweet, romantic, action packed and fast paced.
I have been meaning to review it for so long because I really adored the series so hopefully I'll be able to do that very soon.
3. I'll Give You The Sun
I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson is such a brilliant and poetic book about two twins. It's realistic, heart breaking and such a rollercoaster ride that when I had to get off, I was extremely sad. I loved how unique and well written the story was. One of my favourite aspects of the book was the way the book alternated between the two twins - Noah when they were 13 years old and Jude when they were 16 years old. It created a lot of suspense and mystery in the lead up to the ending of the book.

2. A Court Of Mist And Fury
A Court Of Mist And Fury written by Sarah J Maas is one of my absolute favourite books! It's well written with lovable characters and an unpredictable story line that really keeps readers on their toes. It's absolutely beautiful and well written and when I finished, I missed the characters like crazy.
Do note that it is the second book in the A Court Of Thorns And Roses trilogy. Before reading this one, it is essential you read the first book.
1. The Winner's Trilogy
The Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski has three books - The Winner's Curse, The Winner's Crime and The Winner's Kiss. With a beautiful prose, the story of the two characters Arin and Kestrel is told so well over the duration of these three books. It is absolutely effortless. The characters are so layered and realistic and Rutkoski's writing is heartbreakingly beautiful.
These are, hands down, my absolute favourite books! I will be doing a review for them very soon so stay tuned for that!
