September Wrap Up | sprinkledpages

Hey lovelies!

Today I’m going to be sharing with you my September wrap up! I know it’s not technically the end of the month yet but I wanted to have this out a little bit earlier so I wouldn’t be rushed at the end of the month.

So it was a pretty great reading month for me! I read a grand total of twelve books this month which is awesome and I am really, really happy with it. I discovered a series that I really loved, I got to check out some pretty cool ARCs and although there were books I didn’t love a whole lot, overall, it was fantastic!

{ READS }

Let me just quickly explain my new set up. Most of the books I have read this month are reviewed. Some of the reviews have been posted, others are yet to be uploaded. The ones that have been posted will have an star symbol on them and you can click the link to check out my reviews for those as I don’t want to get repetitive. The ones I have yet to review, however, have been broken down for you below!

And if you’re wondering why all of these didn’t appear in the image, there were so many books that the image got a little too crowded for me to take a photo, haha, so I decided to take out a few!

The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up

This book, written by Marie Kondo, was definitely an eye-opener for me. It is a non-fiction book written about clutter. It breaks down why clutter accumulates, how to clear your space and how to keep it clear. It’s really an amazing read and although not every section was relevant for me as the only place I was looking to clean was my own room, it was a pretty good read. I found Kondo really knew what she was talking about, wrote about every possible situation and explained her concepts really well.

Rebel Of The Sands

I found this book a little disappointing. There was a lot of hype around this book and I found it wasn’t as good as everyone made it out to be. There wasn’t enough world building for me, not enough character development and the whole magic system used in the book was very confusing. There were too many new words Hamilton created to fit with the world and not enough explanation for them. However, the whole concept was pretty cool and I loved the setting (a desert). It was also a diverse book and I’ve been trying to read more of those these days!

A full book review for this will be coming soon!

Can we talk about how cute my little owl is? Not relevant at all to this post but so, so cute!

Captive Prince Trilogy

So the Captive Prince trilogy includes Captive Prince, Prince’s Gambit and King’s rising and is written by Australian author, C. S. Pacat. I loved, loved, loved this trilogy so much I could cry! It was so beautiful and the angst and the character development was so phenomenal. I loved the slow, sweet pace, the easy to understand writing and most of all, the characters! The book has so much tension in it with the two main characters, with the other characters and it’s so well developed and maintained throughout. It’s also one of those (rare) series where the books get better as they go along rather than getting worse (which seems to happen a lot, unfortunately).

The book reviews for all three books will be coming soon along with a discussion (hopefully) so I can fangirl about how cute the characters are!

The Raven Boys

This is my most recent read and I’ll be honest, I did not like it at the start. It was so slow and uneventful that it took me two days to get through to page 78. (Granted, it was because I was majorly hung up on the Captive Prince trilogy, but still!). But after I hit 100 pages, it really, really picked up speed and suddenly, I found myself drawn into the world of Blue and her Raven Boys. It is a little hard to understand at first because it’s quite mystical with psychics and an old, slumbering Welsh king but it’s pretty cool when you get into it because it transforms you to a completely different setting!

A full book review for this will also be coming. I have yet to read the other three books in this series but it’s on my October TBR for sure! I can’t wait to see what happens with them next!

I found my daily posting schedule wasn’t consistent and while I am trying to bring it back to that, it is taking some time.

This has been a very overwhelming month because I’ve been awfully busy, both with school and blogging. There have been a lot of assignments in school and I’ve been trying to blog a lot more consistently. I am currently on holidays which is awesome but I have to go back very soon and face the hectic months that are October and November before my next break. I’m going to be very busy these next two months with exams coming up and a lot of extra-curricular but I shall try to post as often as I can!

That’s it for my wrap up! I had an awesome month, in my reading, blogging and life aspects and I hope it continues on like that!

But tell me about you! How has your reading month been? How has your month been in general?
